The Israeli authorities have banned Noam Chomsky from entering the country. He was on his way to give a lecture at a Palestinean university. The guards at the border behaved really politely and they told him that the Israeli government does not like what he says therefore they do not wish to see him in the country.
This action is just so much stronger than anything Chomsky could have said in his lecture criticizing the Israeli administration. This is the deepest validation of everything Chomsky has ever said about Israel’s political and coercive wrongdoing.
This is like kicking their own balls with metal nosed wesco boots…
Chomsky has been consistent and highly vocal in opposing and rejecting and condemning the Israeli actions for decades and all the while he’s been critical about the other side as well but he made it clear that if it was up to the Arabic countries the peace negotiations would have progressed way further than where they are today. He cited sources that proved that Israel and the U.S. policy makers shuffle the cards in a way that the peace could not be reached because that is the interest of the economy and the policy makers as well.
Overall it is good for every party except for those who suffer from it and who all this should be about: the people of all the countries involved (the Israeli people too) so this is a dirty and immoral game that has just opened a new chapter by not even trying to cover all the horrendous actions that are being done…
And it has nothing to do with being Jewish or anti-semitism, it is all about power, politics and hatred. (And not living there makes me an outsider and it may be easy to say anything from the outside without living in constant fear, the problem is that all my Israeli friends and relatives agree with me who have just a bit of sobriety…)
Make no mistake. The freedom of the Israeli people is just as limited as the Palestinean’s, it is just that their playground is set differently and the ‘objects’ masking and surrounding the dictatorship are motivators and positive cues instead of tanks and soldiers. Being threatened permanently does not make up for any kind of candy…
And about Chomsky - now that is why he is one of the bravest guys in the world and I hope that he would remain among us for as long as it’s possible. I’ve been a fan and a spiritual and ideological follower for a long time and I’m going to remain that forever…
